- Key Stage Three Course
-
- All students follow a science course in the first
two years at Pangbourne. This is taught by one teacher per teaching group,
and follows the guidance of the National Curriculum and the QCA Scheme of
Work. In essence, we use a published scheme called Scientifica.
In the Third Form, we teach the sciences as separate
subjects and run a short introductory course, followed by making a start on
GCSE study.
- GCSE Courses
-
-
In keeping with the "balanced science for all"
ideal, all students follow courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, taught
by specialist teachers. We have selected AQA as our provider of the GCSE
courses, and Nelson Thornes as our textbook and software provider. There are
two routes available: students either take all three sciences at GCSE, or
they take a Science GCSE in the Fourth Form and Additional Science in the
Fifth Form. There's more detail on the
GCSE page.
- AS and A2 Courses
-
-
We offer Biology, Physics and Chemistry at both
AS and A2 level. The number of students choosing these challenging courses
is rising.
